What others are saying about Adam's Animals

"Kimberley looks at the creatures found in the Bible and gives children some incredible scientific facts about them. She then follows those facts up with Scripture references from the Bible on what God has to say about the many animals she has listed in this book. If your child is one who likes "Did you know...?" books, they'll love this one. Included in the book are word search activities and pictures to colour. " – Laura Davis
"Author Kimberly Payne has done a thorough job of researching the animal kingdom and combining it with scripture and biblical stories. This book has many fascinating facts about animals and is laid our in a very organized manner with pictures to color and word puzzles." – Carol Stratton

"From ants to worms, children will not only find the facts interesting, some will even make them giggle. At the same time, they are learning how creative God is that he would make so many animals with distinct characteristics."– Carol Round

"I plan to use this book in our home school program as it integrates faith, science, language and art.
My kids love it - there is much information in it, our 12 year old couldn't get through it in one sitting." – Michelle Evans

"This is a delightful book filled with (as promised) fun facts about God's creatures. I appreciated the focus on scripture and how Kimberley aligns God's word with God's creatures. The word challenges are a wonderful way to hone other skills such as spelling and reading, too, so this is a great activity to go along with the information. "– Glynis Belec

This children's activity book cleverly ties in scripture, so not only does it teach the inquisitive child about God's creations, but also about God's word."—Melanie Fischer

BOOK REVIEW : LEARNING FROM THE MASTER - LIVING A SURRENDER LIFE

BOOK REVIEW: LEARNING FROM THE MASTER – LIVING A SURRENDER LIFE

I had the pleasure to review a powerful, hand on and practical hand book, Learning From The Master – Living A Surrender Life by Laura J. Davis. We live in times full of uncertainties, fear, doubts and challenges, learning and adopting the value of surrender is nearly impossible if not for God’s grace. This book will provide you the required tools both to overcome fear and gain trust in God simultaneously.

I reviewed this workbook solely without reference to the novel and I receive it as my only remuneration for my independent review.

This is a well-designed workbook, which invite us throughout the book to scrutinize our own lives and dig deeper into our hearts to a new discovery that brings us closer to the Saviour. Laura J. Davis does a magnificent job for directing, nurturing and nourishing us in living surrendered lives, based on love and respect.

I subscribe to similar formulae i.e. trust, obedience and submission, to strengthen my faith which was not the case prior to acceptance of Jesus into my life. Through trials and tribulations, God strengthen my faith and caused me to submit to Him voluntarily out of His grace. By knowing my true self deeply and thoroughly, I am able to solve whatever challenge in my life through Christ who strengthens me. This is because there are no challenges, even when combined, larger than Him inside us, provided I surrender to Him.

Laura J. Davis is a firm believer of living a surrendered life, illustrated with numerous compelling and captivating scripture’s stories that truly convinced and convicted me before she raised the relevant and material questions at the end of each chapter. By doing so, we are able to see and connect to this scripture so that we are not side tracked. Here, she relates the real life of Joseph in this context.

"Learning From The Master - Living A Surrender Life" is a practical, hand on work book which serves wide and diverse needs especially for those who want to gain the highest, deepest and broadest perspective on how to live a life surrendered to God. It is not meant to persuade or dissuade you – it’s meant to inform, ingrain and inspire you in gaining appropriate and broad perspectives in such a life.

Her approach is also possible with statements like:

“It can only be done through the work of Holy Spirit and a person’s willingness to surrender to the Lord’s will.”

To know more, please grab hold of the book immediately and read it from the horse's mouth. Well done and I pray that Lord will continue to use her mightily for His will, Amen.

BETTER THAN THE BEST REVIEWED BY GRACE TAN

REVIEW ON JAMES OH’S “BETTER THAN THE BEST”

Like a good anthropologist, James Oh picked up and used them to nourish and nurture the readers a great deal about the needs, wants, concerns, fears, doubts and problems that most people share. Whether you are the novice, newbie, newcomer, later-comer or old-timer to the social arena,  communion, career path or character building, there is so much to be learned here.

I enjoy and relish those inspiring and inspiriting sayings, excerpts, quips and quotes, especially those exalted and enhanced by James’ elucidation using his own personal experiences, encounters, episodes and anecdotes.  I would say that most of these magnificent and stupendous quotes and teaching are not seen for the first time by many of us, but being a common human flaw, we tend to forget either to learn and internalize them by heart, or fail to put into practice ritually.

Hence, to me, this Book, not only being a fabulous reminder, is also  a great tool for me to cross refer and make reference to, whenever I wish to find and utilize the relevant materials, as this Book has conveniently and expediently collected and assembled much valuable resources into a single booklet.

I would definitely keep a look out for other publishing authored by James Oh and in the meantime, I will ardently recommend this remarkable Collection of Wisdom to my friends.

MY INTERVIEW WITH SMASHWORDS

What’s your passion?
My passion is to help others, especially those who have not living up to their full potential, because they are lacking self-esteem and self-confidence.
Tell us more about your latest book?
Looking Beyond Financial Statements is about what I had applied in my profession of growing a private limited aviation company with its founder, to a publicly listed company on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange, which seems impossible at that time. It details all the required skill, mindset and knowledge that navigate and nurture us to achieve breakthrough.

Looking Beyond Financial Statements is strongly recommended for anyone who is aspiring to do the impossible, or anyone living with low self-esteem and self-confidence who is interested in a better way of life.
Why fueling your mind with wholesome healthy stuff is important to you?
Very simply, it provides me with the necessary energy and appropriate mindset to kick off my day and accomplish everything I set out to do. From the moment I wake up and throughout my busy day, it is crucial for me to maintain my superior health and effectively productive lifestyle, including doing everything that I desire both professionally and personally. I am a firm believer of strong mindset, living with a positive attitude, and helping others when possible. This will always follow up with an effective, positive and profound thoughts and actions no matter what!
What does self-love mean to you?
Self-love means that I value myself and always desire to be in great shape in every aspect of my life: physically, mentally, mentally and spiritually. I know that if I don’t concern and care of my own well-being and happiness, then I will be of little use to anyone else. To know yourself is the first step of wisdom.
What are three things you have left to do on your bucket list?
First of all, I would love to help my children to achieve their dreams, so as to uphold my promise. This is the best gift the father could give to his children.

Secondly, I would absolutely love to own my training centre in near future! I am passionate in writing, and intend to leave behind my experience, knowledge and skill as my legacy before I leave this planet. This is the way for me to pay back the world I have been benefiting from.

Finally, I would love to be a great contributor especially in my chosen fields. I desire to reach out to a larger magnitude of people so as they can make best use of their gifts and talents to bring a better tomorrow.
What are your top 3 tips to stay healthy and happy?
1) Always be grateful what you have. Thank God in the first time of the morning when you wake up. Read healthy reading materials regularly and have healthy and nutritional meals.
2) Laugh as much as possible and never take your life too seriously.
3) Drink lots and loads of water, love the one you see in the mirror, and compliment others, without ever being competitive.
What’s your favorite inspirational quote?
“You were designed for Accomplishment, Engineer for Success and endowed with the seeds of Greatness.” ZigZiglar.

GUEST AUTHOR INTERVIEW WITH CAROL ROUND

About the Author

CAROL ROUND, self-syndicated columnist, Christian author and inspirational speaker, began her journey with the Lord in October 2001 when she admitted her need for His guidance. Since that time, she has sought a deeper relationship with Him through reading scripture, Bible study and the personal discipline of keeping a daily prayer journal. After being encouraged by other Christian women, she has compiled her experiences with prayer journaling into Journaling with Jesus.

Here is the interview..

James: When did you begin to write?

Carol: Since I was able to write my name, I have been writing poems and stories. After             retiring from a 30-year teaching career in 2005, I began to pursue my love of  writing full-time as a self-syndicated columnist, freelance writer and book author.

James: When did you first discover that you were a writer?

Carol:  I majored in journalism and English when I was in college. I had always loved to read and write so I began writing news and feature stories while in college.

James: How much did you write before you were published?

Carol: I began being published as soon as I started writing news and feature stories for the   college newspaper and local and state newspapers. However, my first book, A Matter of Faith came out in 2006.

James: What is your favorite part of writing?

Carol: My favorite part of writing is the creation process. I love putting pen to paper or        composing at the keyboard to write a newspaper column or a book. I forget the time as I weave words into a creation.

James: Tell us about your latest release.

Carol: My latest release is The 40-Day Challenge, a companion workbook to Journaling         with Jesus: How to Draw Closer to God.

James: Wow! This book sounds really good. Are you planning on writing more in the years to come?

Carol: I sent a children’s manuscript to a publisher in May. I am still waiting to hear back.   I am currently working on a novel while continuing to write my weekly column.

James: So far, what are your worst criticism/attacks, and how have you overcome it?

Carol: Out of 36 reviews for Journaling with Jesus: How to Draw Closer to God on Amazon, I received two negative ones. The first one made me sad—as well as mad—because the reviewer admitted he had not read the entire book. I thought it was unfair for him to give it a negative review without having finished the book. I think what helped me to overcome the negative reviews was receiving so many positive ones.

James: What is the accomplishment that you are most proud of?

Carol: I am most proud of the fact that I have been able to continue—with God’s Holy Spirit—to write a 500-word column each week for almost 8 years. My column, “A  Matter of Faith,” runs in 12 Oklahoma newspapers and 2 international  publications. I would not be doing a column without God’s nudging and continual guidance.

James: What does your writing process look like?

Carol: When I write a column, I compose it at the computer after I pray, asking God to give me the words He wants me to use to reach the people He wants me to reach. My column ideas come from various sources: scripture, news events, other people in my  life and events in my life or others.

James:  How did you get published?

Carol: I self-published my first two collections of columns, which read like daily devotionals. I used Instant Publishing. Then, I learned that an author friend had started a small publishing company and was seeking inspirational titles. I submitted my books to him and he accepted them, combining the two into one volume. A year  later, he released my second collection of columns.

Westbow Press released my third book on prayer journaling in 2012, but I chose to use CreateSpace for the companion workbook because I am able to keep more of the profits from the sales. I still have to promote my books whether I am traditionally published or self-published.

James: How do you come up with title of your books?

Carol: I brainstorm ideas. I just start making a list of possible titles and then narrow them  down. I also ask for input from friends.

James: Can you enlighten us a little more about your books?

Carol: Three of my five books are collections of my weekly columns. The titles are A Matter of Faith, Faith Matters and by FAITH alone. The columns are like daily devotionals. I decided to put them in book collections because my readers were responding with positive feedback.

My book, Journaling with Jesus: How to Draw Closer to God, is a small book but gives the reader the tools and encouragement to start keeping a prayer journal. I  wrote the book after 10 years of keeping a prayer journal and speaking at women’s retreats on the topic. Women started asking me if I had a book about prayer journaling. I knew that God was leading me on the journey to write one.

The companion workbook, The 40-Day Challenge, came about because at the end of Journaling with Jesus: How to Draw Closer to God, I challenge the reader to sign a covenant with God to keep a prayer journal for 40 days. The workbook offers prayer journaling challenges for each day.

James: Tell us your guiding principle that governs your life?

Carol: The guiding principle governing my life is “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

James: How have you cultivated these values?

Carol: Reading the Bible every day and keeping a prayer journal draws me closer to God  and His guiding principles for our lives. If everyone practiced this one principle, our   world would be a much better place.

James: Do you have any advice for writers looking to be published?

Carol: Practice your craft by

  1. Taking online writing courses
  2. Attending writing conferences
  3. Subscribing to writing magazines like Writer’s Digest
  4. Seeking constructive feedback
  5. Getting your manuscript professionally edited
  6. Reading—read and read some more—not just in your genre either
  7. Joining a writers’ group
Never giving up

Thank Carol for her time and effort to attend this interview.

Wishing all the best to her.

Better than the Best, by James Oh, is an inspirational masterpiece. His book is full of encouragement and direction. I found sound wisdom to break free of restrictions that have kept me from being my best. I like this quote from his book: "If you continuously compete with others,You become Bitter.
But if you continuously compete with yourself, You become Better." Highly recommended. Glenn Langohr

I have read quite a few books that promote the topic of self-growth and professionalism and Better than the Best takes the cake! James Oh does a magnificent job at telling his story while revealing those little nuggets of wisdom we all need from time to time. My favorite quote in this book is: "to unlock your inner power is to stop resisting." Wow!!

Page after page you will find original and thought provoking content. Personally, I will be returning to this book for motivation. It is inspiration, life coaching and a refreshing drink of water all inside one book. I highly recommend Better than the Best if you are looking for motivation to pursue and achieve your goals.
